Are announced advances in the treatment of lung cancer

lung-cancer1The state of Florida in the United States was the chosen place to celebrate the 45th congress of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, one of the most important meetings in the world of health and specifically in oncology.

At that meeting the most renowned specialists have made important advances in cancer treatment more dangerous lung cancer.

Specialists through a study have determined that treatments that combine two drugs produced by Swiss drugmaker Roche, we refer to the “Tarceva” and “Avastin, give better results than other conventional treatments.

According to a study with 768 patients with lung cancer, treatment with both drugs decreased by 29% compared to the treatment uses only Avastin.

The Tarceva acting killing cancer cells in the body, while Avastin prevents the vessels continue to develop that encourage tumor growth.

This study is the first that combines two drugs in treating patients with lung cancer, leading to prolong survival of patients without the cancer getting worse.
